The new Kia Rio has been awarded the maximum five stars for accident safety from leading European road safety organization, EuroNCAP.

Kia Motors Corporation released the first official images of its all-new Kia Ray compact vehicle, which will besold exclusively in the company’s home market of Korea.

Kia Motors America (KMA) today celebrated the world premieres of the all-new 2012 Rio sub-compact sedan and the comprehensively upgraded 2012 Kia Soul at the New York International Auto Show.

Kia Motors and its Chinese joint venture, Dongfeng Yueda Kia, unveiled the K2 B-segment sedan today at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show. Based on the platform of the all-new Rio, which made its world premiere at this year’s Geneva Motor Show in March, the new K2 was designed and engineered specifically for the Chinese market and will enter production at Dongfeng Yueda Kia’s manufacturing facility in Jiangsu province starting this June. A 5-door hatchback of version of the K2 will commence production in August of this year.

At the Seoul Motor Show  this year, Kia introduced various concept cars and new cars (all-new Rio, all-new Picanto, etc.) which were recently showcased at international motor shows.

Taking its name from the Korean word “Ne-mo”, (pronounced ‘Neh-mo’, meaning ‘square shape’), the Naimo electric crossover utility vehicle (CUV) was conceived by Kia’s international design team in Seoul, and is characterized principally by its simple lines and solid, muscular stance.

The competition’s jury of respected international design experts bestowed coveted red dot awards on the Kia Sportage compact CUV and Kia Optima sedan.  The judges also paid a special tribute to the new mid-size Kia Optima sedan, which claimed the 2011 red dot ‘best of the best’ title, the competition’s highest distinction, for which only the best products in each category are eligible.

The all-new 2011 Kia Optima midsize sedan has achieved an overall five-star crash safety rating – the highest possible score – after attaining five stars in each of the overall ratings categories in the latest crash tests conducted by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s NHTSA.

All-new Rio has its own interpretation of Kia’s signature grille, integrated with the headlamps to give a new twist on the Kia family look.

Presented during the 2011 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, USA, during a presentation sponsored by Bridgestone Tire, the 2011 Kia Sportage compact CUV was honored with the ‘International Truck of the Year’ award by Road & Travel Magazine.
