Eco-friendly and Fuel Conservation
When the majority of environmentalists speak about cars being “green”, only pollution caused by running the vehicle is normally considered. There are quite a few gadgets Kia has developed to facilitate more economical driving. Although Kia has made leaps and bounds in setting an example for going “green”, they’re not ready to stop just yet. In the next three years, Kia Motors has made a goal to manufacture a range of vehicles that are ten percent lighter than the ones which have been most recently released. This would actually save an additional three or four percent on petrol; even though it may sound like a low percentage of savings, it truly adds up when all the Kia cars around the globe are factored into the equation. In addition to aiming for saving petrol, every Kia factory works to guarantee a production process that is most beneficial to the atmosphere. The Georgia plant, for instance, has put a proclamation in place called the “Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia Environmental Policy Statement”. Part of the commitment stated is that those who work at that specific plant will do anything they can to eliminate wastes from their production processes while conserving as much energy as possible in the manufacturing of vehicles.
In other parts of the world, Kia plants are becoming just as eco-conscious. The plant in Slovakia was actually recognized in 2008 for their advanced technologies by being given the International Certificate of Environmental Management award. This was because of remarkably-low levels of toxins being emitted into the atmosphere. Most astonishing, however, are the plants in South Korea which actually manage to reuse ninety-three percent of their production pollutants by implementing a “zero landfill waste” approach.
